FINDING OUT THE REAL ME

For my birthday this year my sister Jodi got me the first Twilight book and I remember thinking she doesn't even know who I am, when is the last time I read a book?? Especially a book with 498 pages and no pictures. But that same week I went to the Pheonix Zoo for an overnight (yes I said overnight) fild trip with Owen and I figured I would give it a try. Well I guess my sister knows me better than I know myself because I was hooked in the first chapter. Not only did I read that whole book but also the second two within a month and I went crazy waiting for Breaking Dawn to come out. In the meantime I also got my hands on The Host and I loved it as well. I don't know who I surprised more, Austin, my mom, or me. Austin couldn't believe I was crying in them either. I found myself wanting to read more and when I heard about MIDNIGHT SUN (if you haven't read it it's a must and is EDWARD'S version of TWILIGHT)I was burried in my computer(that's the only way to read it right now). So now I am SOOOOO EXCITED for TWILIGHT to come out. I have also been craving another good book to read so when I went to check out Stephanie Meyers website and found her recommendation for THE HUNGER GAMES I decided to give it a try and I'll addmit it wasn't as good as TWILGHT but I still couldn't put it down. I never thought I would be one who could crave a good book in a quiet room but hey that's me and I guess Jodi knew it all along. So if you know of any other good books please let me know.

hmmm? I will have to check this series out. I have heard how good it is. My daughter is reading it, maybe I will have to "borrow" it! And you do look good in all your pictures! Not fair!

Hi Amy,

I knew you were "smart" enough for this blogging thing. Glad you joined this crazy world. I'm coming in to Blossom this week..I heard new inventory will be there on thurs.? What am I going to do without Blossom? I'll have to ask Jodi if she could open one in Vernal. I'll be the store manager ;)

Now, about Twilight. I'm so glad you are reading books. My sisters passed their copies to me and said I had to read it...well I did, the 1st three....and I just kept waiting for them to get better. I think the hype was too big. But you should read The Secret Lives of Bees before you see the movie. Did you read Da Vinci Code (lots of hype but it lived up to it)? And These is My Words. Good book.

Maybe I'll appreciate the books after I see the Twilight movie. You think?

I loved the Twilight books and the Host too... I have had Hunger Games on my list but haven't read it yet.

You'll be sorry you asked for suggestions from me (I read entirely too much), but here are a few to keep you busy;)

I suggest "These is My Words", "Sarah's Quilt" and "Star Garden" by Nancy Turner (it's a series), and I've been reading books by Betsy Brannon Green. She is a LDS author, a murder mystery story with a love story in them. "Hearts in Hiding" is my favorite, followed by "Above Suspicion". She has lots more, but start with those two and see how you like her...

Mary Higgins Clark is an author that also writes mystery/love stories, I've only read "I've Heard that Song Before" but it was good. She has alot that a supposed to be good.

And, if you haven't read the Children of the Promise series by Dean Hughs, you should. They are excellent. They take place during the war, but have love stories, trials, testimony builders, and history all jumbled in. Very enjoyable and there are 5 in that series. The next series of his is Hearts of the Chidren--also 5 of them. Also good but I liked the first 5 more.

Tons of the books I mentioned are available at the Snowflake/Taylor Library--you should check some out! (They have a website too that shows what they carry.)

Your picture is so cute:)

I am not sure how I blog-hopped onto your blog, but I am cousins with Austin.

My mom is his aunt. (Sanza) Just wanted to say hi. A few other Perkins cousins have blogs, their links are on my page if you guys want to check them out!

SO, hi, Austin! Your kids are super cute! Also, if you guys have any cute pics of you or your kids with Grandma Perkins, if you could email them to me this week, I could use them for her family history book that we are publishing for her this next month. whettenfamily@gmail.com

Thanks!
Deanna
